Discovering the Secrets of Cicero's Pizza: A Slice of New York in San Jose
A Slice of New York in San Jose
If you’re on the hunt for a slice of authentic New York pizza in San Jose, look no further than Cicero’s Pizza! This hidden gem comes highly recommended, and after visiting, I can see why. With a cozy atmosphere and an intriguing backstory, it’s a place that pizza lovers won’t want to miss.
Fresh Ingredients and Secret Recipes
The moment you step into Cicero’s Pizza, you’re welcomed by a warm and inviting interior that makes you feel right at home. During my visit, one of the owners graciously gave us a tour of the kitchen, which was a highlight! It was fascinating to see the ovens imported straight from New York, where the magic of their secret dough recipe happens. Only four people know the recipe, creating a sense of mystery that adds to the allure of the restaurant.
The ingredients are clearly fresh and carefully selected, which is essential for crafting the perfect pizza. I couldn’t wait to dig into what they had to offer: a classic cheese pizza and a baker's pie loaded with delicious toppings. The cheese pizza had the perfect balance of sauce and cheese — not too much of either, allowing the flavors to shine through. The baker's pie, on the other hand, was a delightful explosion of taste, with thin crust that enhanced the rich flavors of the Italian sauces, onions, and mushrooms.
Flavor with a Price Tag
While the flavors were certainly on point, I must mention that the price tag was a bit hefty at $26 for a medium pizza. It didn’t quite feel like a medium-sized pizza in my opinion, which might leave some diners feeling a little sticker shock. However, if you’re willing to splurge for a great pizza experience, Cicero’s is totally worth it.
After savoring both slices, I gave the cheese pizza a solid 7.8 for its chewiness and flavor balance, while the baker's pie earned an impressive 8.5 for its delightful richness and thin crust.
Final Verdict: Worth a Visit!
Overall, Cicero’s Pizza in San Jose is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates good pizza. With its excellent ingredients, a cozy atmosphere, and a sprinkle of New York charm, it’s a dining experience that’s hard to beat. Just be prepared for the price, and remember that sometimes good things come at a premium.
So, if you find yourself in San Jose and craving pizza, be sure to check out Cicero’s Pizza — your taste buds will thank you!

Welcome back everybody, One Minute Reviews here. Today we're reviewing Cicero's Pizza as recommended by a fan. So they have a lovely interior and great menu options. One of the owners was actually kind enough to even give us a tour of the kitchen. So she showed us how they got ovens imported all the way from New York. She also showed us where they keep their secret dough recipe and their secret sauce. As well as the rest of the ingredients, which all look very fresh and delicious. Okay, so this is how the pizza looks. We have cheese on this side and we have baker's pie on this side. And the owner was also kind enough to tell us a little bit about the restaurant. So they come from Buffalo, New York and they have their own secret dough recipe, which only four people know about. We're going to try the pizza and rate it. I have the cheese. And I have the baker's pie. It's a really good pie. Honestly, I love how thin it is. So you can experience so much more flavor from the ingredients. Like the Italian sauces, the onions, the mushrooms. Rather than just the cheese and tomato. So for the cheese pizza, I love how much sauce and cheese there is. There's not too much cheese. There's not too much sauce. But I do think it's a bit chewy. I think I'm going to give this a 7.8. I'm going to go for an 8.5. I think that's a really great slice. Monsters. So although the pizza was very delicious, it was kind of expensive. Coming in at $26 for a medium, which didn't really feel like a medium. However, it is a great pizza and I think the undercarriage is great too.
